- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong, hands-on background in Go in production systems
- Working proficiency in React — able to build and maintain UI components/pages, even though the role is primarily backend
- Strong quality awareness — you think about testability and edge cases as you design, and you're comfortable jumping into test automation alongside QA when needed
- Comfortable contributing to test automation, ideally backend automation in Go and/or front-end automation in Cypress (or a similar framework, with willingness to pick up Cypress)
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) as part of your regular development workflow, and comfortable adopting them as standard practice on this team
- Excellent understanding of modern distributed software architecture: microservices, gRPC/REST APIs, message queues, relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience developing with modern Agile methodologies (Scrum, CI/CD, TDD)
- Quick to learn new technologies and apply them to complex problems
