- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production features at scale
- Proficiency in server-side and client-side development - TypeScript, Node.js, React, or similar technologies
- Experience building and operating distributed, event-driven systems and background workers at scale
- Strong observability mindset - you can trace a latency or reliability issue end-to-end using logs, metrics, and traces
- Drive engineering excellence, reliability, and performance across fast-moving codebases
- Strong communication skills, team mindset, and empathy
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or AI/ML models into production software (prompt engineering, streaming APIs, cost/latency tradeoffs) (advantage)
- Experience building notification systems, or third-party platform integrations at scale (advantage)
- Familiarity with GraphQL APIs, ideally in a federated architecture (advantage)
- Comfortable working across both backend systems and product-facing features (advantage)
